Lester Jacob Kahrig, 91, of Pataskala, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Mount Carmel East Hospital. He was born on July 30, 1926, in Lewisville, OH, a son to the late Lawrence and Ella (Christman) Kahrig. Lester was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He also wrote a book “Memoirs of a Kahrig” that is in the library of congress and was an organ donor who donated a kidney for his brother. Lester is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Eula Kahrig; children, Rhonda (Charles) Ortt of Columbus, Scott (Jeanne) Kahrig of Pataskala and June (Joe) Sipl of Hilliard; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Herman Kahrig, Dortha Matz, Vera Crock, Leora Cruise, Doris Kahrig, Rodney Kahrig, Kenneth Kahrig and Lloyd Kahrig and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his son, Dannie Kahrig and siblings, Virgil Kahrig, Francis Kahrig, William Kahrig, Roger Kahrig and Martha Uppole. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, May 18, 2018 at KAUBER-FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, 289 S. Main St., Pataskala, OH 43062. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Angie Sherer officiating. Interment will follow at Middle Church Cemetery.
