Lula Mae Mott, 88, of Westlake, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Grand Cove Nursing Home. She was born to her late parents, Jules and Ida Benoit on March 18, 1930 in Lake Arthur, LA. She was a member for over 50 years and past president of both VFW Post 2130 Auxiliary, and American Legion Auxiliary’s Post 370 and 407. She was a lifelong member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church, where she was very active. She sold for AVON for over 50 years. Before she retired she worked for Dollar General for over 15 years. Most of all, she loved her family and being a Momma, MawMaw, and Granny.
She is survived by her son, Vince Mott and wife Marcia of Moss Bluff; three daughters, Priscilla Mott of Carlyss, Theresa Schexnider and husband Ronnie of Westlake, Regina Vander and husband B.J. of Westlake; 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren, with one on the way; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Brenda LeBlanc who has been there through it all.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Wilmer Mott; one son, David Mott; her parents; two brothers, Eddie Benoit, Vince Benoit; one sister, Lillian Benoit Moore; and two great grandsons, Gunner Howard and Bekham Mott.
Services will be held at St. John Bosco Catholic Church at 11:00am on Saturday, May 19, 2018 with Father Michael Barras officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 5:00-9:00pm with a Rosary at 6:00pm. Visitation will resume at St. John Bosco on Saturday, from 9:00am until the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake.
