It is with great sadness that the family of Vincent James Giaccio Jr. announces his passing on Friday, May 18, 2018, at the age of 54. Vincent was a tile mechanic for over 30 years and was respected by all who knew him. He was a tile setter by trade, but a musician and writer at heart. He dedicated part of his life to coaching his son’s baseball teams. He loved managing his son Vincent’s New City Generals baseball team and each player had a special place in his heart.
Bruce Springsteen and the N.Y. Mets were two huge influences on his life for over 40 years.
His greatest accomplishments were his sons, Matthew, Vincent and Jack who were the light of his life. Vincent will be forever loved and remembered by his children and their mother Kathy. He will also be lovingly remembered by his sisters and brother, Michele (Derek), Francine (Rich) Catarinacchio, Susan (Steven) Fialkow, Chris (Anna), nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
A funeral service in memory of Vincent will be held at the Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, 113 Lake Road East, Congers, NY. Monday 7–9, Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral Mass at St. Augustine, 114 S Main St., New City at 10 am. Internment at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in honor of Vincent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the New City Generals baseball league:
