BARTOW – Mrs. Dixie Faye McKay, age 82, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 in Sebring, Florida. She was born March 10, 1936 in Nauvoo, Al, the daughter of John and Elvia (Norris) Roden. She was a retired registered nurse who worked for many years at Polk General Hospital in Bartow. She also served alongside her husband in pastoring the Trenton Church of God in Michigan and pastoring the Bethel Church of God, in Bartow, for over 27 years. Mrs. McKay was preceded in death in 2012 by her husband of almost 61 years, the Reverend Charles H. McKay. Mrs. Mckay is survived by a son Mark (Judy) Bartow, daughter Cindy Courtney (Kenny) Bartow, brother Howard Wallace Roden, Lake Alfred, granddaughter Laurie Duppenthaler (Kelly) Sebring, grandsons Jonathan McCeldry, Eaton Park, Timothy McKay (Katrina) Palm Bay, and Charles B. McKay, Mulberry. She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren. Visitation is Wednesday, May 30, from 6-8 pm at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Winter Haven. Funeral services will be at 11 am on Thursday, May 31 at the Bethel Church of God, Bartow.
