David William Holden, age 51, passed away on May 21, 2018. He was born in Willard, Utah in 1966 and graduated from Box Elder High School and Weber State University. He joined the Navy in 1984 and served in Operation Desert Storm. For several years after his discharge from the Navy, Dave served in the Naval Reserves.
A member of Tucker Masonic Lodge #42, Dave had a passion for serving his community. He also maintained a close relationship with the Stone Mountain Lodge and participated in many of their community outreach activities. He hoped to one day establish a non-profit to help build homes for veterans.
Dave worked as Warehouse Manager for Milner, Inc., headquartered in Norcross. In addition, for the past 20 years, Dave also owned his own business, Holden Creations, Inc., a creative design company providing AUTOCAD drawings to the fitness equipment industry.
Dave is survived by his son, Ian Brown, and grandsons, Nathen and Aiden, of Ogden, Utah; father, Jess Holden of Roy, Utah; sisters Stefanie Holtermann of Clarksville, Tennessee; Erica Neilson of Ogden, Utah; and Beth Chadwick, of Riverdale, Utah; his girlfriend, Beverly Herring; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Arlene Holden, from whom Dave learned his love for writing.
A memorial service to celebrate Dave’s life will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 2:00 at Floral Hills Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 1:00 – 2:00.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in Dave’s name to Disabled American Veterans, Gwinnett County Chapter, P.O. Box 711, Snellville, GA 30078.
