He was born on December 21st, 1930 in Woodland, California; graduated High School in Zachary, Louisiana in 1947; graduated from Louisiana State University with a BS in Petroleum Engineering in 1954; proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; and enjoyed a rewarding 35 year career with Texas Gas Transmission, retiring in 1991.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Madge Muncey, and his grandson, Christopher Muncey.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Jeanne Muncey; his brother, Ray Muncey; his children, Linda Cannon, and husband Neal, Tom Muncey, and his wife Marcia, and Steve Muncey, and his wife Sharon; and his grandchildren, David Muncey, Spencer Muncey, and his wife Sara, Colton Muncey and Courtney Muncey.
He was a Master Mason, Reagan Lodge #1037, A.E.&A.M.; and a member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church, serving many years as an usher. He was a man of honor and integrity, devoted to faith and family.

The family will receive friends during visitation Monday, June 4th, 2018 from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. The Funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 5th, 2018 at 10:00am at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Interment to follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
