Marguerite Marie (Lewis) Koval was born on April 7, 1922 in Diamond, Newton County, Missouri to Franklin Oliver Lewis and Della Frances (Taylor) Lewis. Margie Koval 96 passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends at Bridgeview Estates Assisted Living Center Twin Falls, Idaho on May 29, 2018. Margie was the youngest of 15 brothers and sisters. In the late 30’s, she moved with her family to Metaline Falls, Washington. Margie lived with her parents until she turned 18, she then moved to Spokane, Washington to start life on her own. Margie started working as a House Maid. Mom said in one day she baked 15 different pies and cooked a seven course dinner for a family and their guests. Mom was a wonderful cook!! Margie met her husband Samuel O. Koval and fell in love and married February 2, 1942 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Margie and Samuel settled down in Spokane, Washington until Sam was called away to WWII. After the war, they resumed life in Spokane and started their family. They had three children, Creig O. Koval from Great Falls, Montana, Sharon M. Porath (Edward Gene) from Twin Falls, Idaho, Sammy F. Koval from Denver, Colorado and 2 grandchildren, Krystina Koval from Great Falls, Montana, Shauna M. (Porath) McRoberts (Trenton) from Boise, Idaho and 1 great grandchild Cameron McRoberts. Dad stayed in the Air Force, and the whole family was transferred to Guam to live until he retired in 1962. The family settled in Great Falls, Montana until dad retired from the Post Office. They moved back to Spokane where mom and dad were active on a bowling league. Margie was an excellent bowler and won many bowling pins and trophies. Dad would call bingo for The Moose Lodge which was right up Margie’s alley! She took her bingo very seriously, she always had a worn out rabbit foot that she rubbed on her cards for good luck. Margie used the same rabbit foot all of her life until the hair was gone and rubbed down to the bone! Mom and Dad stayed in Spokane through the summer and traveled South during the winter living in their motor home. Margie loved traveling to visit friends and family. In July 2009 Mom and Dad moved to Twin Falls, Idaho to be near their daughter Sharon. They moved into Bridgeview Estates (Retirement Home). There they stayed and made many friends. Dad passed away February 15, 2012 just thirteen days after their 70th Anniversary. After Sam passed, Margie continued living at Bridgeview Estates making a lot of good friends. She loved spending time with her friends, playing bingo and going to Jackpot NV., trying to win that Big Jackpot.☺ Margie enjoyed her family, and loved playing with and spoiling her great grandson Cameron. Margie (Mom) lived a long, happy life and she brought joy, many wonderful memories and smiles to all of our lives. She will be truly missed. We love you Mom, Grandma and GG.
