She was married to Antonio Renteria Sr. for 50 years and was a mother to 3 children; Antonio “Tony” Renteria Jr., Regina Renteria Zaragoza, and Lawrence “Larry” Frances Renteria Sr. Socorro was the first female watch repair person for Gordon Jewelers in Houston.
She was a longtime member of Resurrection Catholic Church in Houston. She became a member in 1968 and has since served on the Altar Society, in the Church Choir, as a Eucharistic Minister, and as a member of the Church Prayer Group. Socorro was a member of the Denver Harbor Seniors.
Socorro is preceded in death by her parents Julian and Josefa Miranda, husband Antonio Renteria Sr., sons Tony Renteria Jr. and Larry Renteria Sr., sisters Guadalupe Miranda and Hermila Mendez.
She is survived by her daughter Regina Renteria Zaragoza, 13 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Earthman Baytown Funeral Home. A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2018 from 5-8PM with a Rosary beginning at 7PM at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home Chapel, 3919 Garth Rd. Baytown, TX 77521. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 10AM at Resurrection Catholic Church, 915 Zoe St. Houston TX 77020. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale beginning at 3pm.
