Michael D. Clark, 74, passed away on May 30, 2018. He was born May 9, 1944 in Odessa, TX. to the late Royal and Ovada Rhodes Clark. He was a 1962 graduate of Duncan High School and a 1966 graduate of the University of Oklahoma. Mike proudly served his country during the Vietnam War, through the Tet Offensive, in the United States Army and was an officer in the 101st Airborne Division (the Screaming Eagles). On June 6, 1968 in Wichita Falls, TX. he married Billye Jo Hilderbrandt Clark. Mike was a veteran representative for the State of Oklahoma for 20 years. Over his lifetime he established a number of businesses including deArtes in Shepherd Mall and Bricktown Limo. He was always able to accomplish whatever he set his mind to.
Mike was full of life and was a force of nature. He had a zest for living and had all the excitement that could be found. He thrived on constant chaos, which was usually of his own making. Mike had a great love of music, including Elvis and Bob Marley, and old cars and boats. He was proud of his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Travis Wayne Clark; and mother-in-law, Billie Ramsey.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jo Clark, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Vincent and Elizabeth Clark of Denver, CO., daughter and son-in-law, Chesnye and Chris Steward of Sikeston, MO.; brother, Roger Clark of Canadian, TX.; grandchildren, Clark Steward, BellaRuth Steward, Will Henry Steward, Leo Steward, MaemiePearl Steward, Ellen Clark and Hugh Clark.
Memorial services will be 2pm Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Bill Merritt Funeral Service.
