Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Frank and Emily (Borges) Borba, she had resided in South Dartmouth for most of her life before moving to Wrentham.
Gerry was a graduate of Dartmouth High School, class of 1958, and had worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Plumber Supply Co. and Sea Gold Seafood Products, Inc.
Growing up in Padanaram, she treasured views of the harbor and its salty breezes. She was an avid reader and gardener, however spending time with her beloved grandchildren brought her the most joy.
Her family includes two sons, Bryan Rodrigues and his wife Pamela of Franklin and Mark Rodrigues of New Bedford; a sister, Delores “Dee” Borba and her husband Peter Jenkins of South Dartmouth; a brother, Anthony Borba and his wife Patti of AZ; a son-in-law, Joseph Cardamone of Wolfsboro, NH; ten grandchildren, Lucy, Emma, Andre, Natalie, Peter, Anthony, Grace, Elizabeth, Olivia and Will; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Wendy Cardamone and two brothers, Hank Borba and Paul Borba.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the Smith Neck Friends Cemetery, 594 Smith Neck Rd., South Dartmouth.
