Esther Francis Frevert, age 81, died peacefully at home on June 6, 2018, of complications from a bacterial infection. Born Nov. 10, 1936 to Frances Bort and Paul Schreiber, Esther grew up on their Illinois farm. At 18 she left the Midwest in search of adventure and made her way to Florida. She found work at the Kennedy Space Center, and she met her future husband. Esther married Ronald Ray Frevert on January 15, 1960. Together they had two sons, Robert Charles and David Lee.
After moving to California, they returned to settle in Merritt Island and became Charter Members of Faith Lutheran Church, where they were very active. Esther got her Real Estate License and worked for a short time with Trafford Realty. Their lives focused on their kids: school, sports, fishing and Sunday afternoons at “Ski Island” with friends from Faith.
After the boys left for college, Esther and Ron spent time enjoying each other and Family. They became members of the Space Coast Trackers Square Dance Club. They were blessed with 2 grandchildren from Bob: Jennifer and Ryan. And they enjoyed visiting some unique travel destinations with David and his wife Susan.
Esther lost the love of her life in December of 1996. She began to travel and saw a lot more of the world, taking tours to Europe, Asia, and Australia; trips around the United States; and cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska, and Norway. When she was home, she enjoyed playing bridge, visiting with friends, game nights at the Church, and Sunday lunch with friends after Services. She remained active at her Church.
A Memorial Service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church on Saturday, June 16 at 11:00 with a reception to follow. She will be laid to rest next to Ron at Brevard Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 280 E. Merritt Ave., Merritt Island, FL 32953.
