Phyllis was incredibly proud of her family. She met her life-long husband, Chuck, when they were just 15 years of age at the roller skating rink. Together they raised three children. She cherished her six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and was very involved in their lives. Chuck and Phyllis lived in the Kansas City area all of their life. There they started their own business, and later bought a vacation home in the Lake of the Ozarks where they surrounded themselves with friends and family and made life-long memories.
After selling the home at the Lake, they continued to create memories with their family and friends and often joined them on vacations, cruises, and Sunday morning breakfasts. Much like her sister Patty, she had a love of music and attended the Big Creek country show in Pleasant Hill religiously every week. She loved babies and leveraged her talents in sewing to create blankets for her grandbabies and newborns in her neighborhood.
Phyllis will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 68 years Arrie Jones Jr., their children Arrie Jones III of Independence, Jacquelyn Dilport of St. Louis, her sister Patty Jordan of Odessa, and brother Ronald Smith of Ft. Myers, Florida. Phyllis was predeceased by her brother Olan Smith Jr., and her son Kenneth Lee Jones. She will also be forever remembered by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
