Norman David Bornstein, 87, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, June 3, 2018, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born August 28, 1930, in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Iman H. and Mary Shuman Bornstein.
A U.S. Armed Forces veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Bornstein earned a Master's Degree in Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts and Bachelor's Degree from Tufts University. He retired from Cryovac Inc. Division of W. R. Grace, serving as Manager of Process Development, Research Development, Engineering, Laminates and Compliance. He was also a member of the American Chemical Society, Board of American Plastics Association, a National Associate Member of the Smithsonian Institution, as well as a member of Temple B'nai Israel.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Ruth Schwartz Bornstein; daughter, Beth R. Bornstein (Bruce Crocker) of Spartanburg, SC; son, Howard L. Bornstein (Christina Orr) of Key Largo, FL; granddaughter, Tiffany Brown (Nate) of Wichita, KS; and great-grandchildren, Lillianna, Ellie, Addilynn, Penelope, and Constantine.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 11AM at Beth El Cemetery, 776 Baker St., West Roxbury, MA 02132.
A service honoring his memory will be held in Spartanburg, SC at a later date to be announced.
