Homer Roy Adams passed away on June 9, 2018 in Tyler Texas at the age of 62. Homer's hometown was Tyler, Texas for most of his life, in which he spent most of that time loving the Dallas Cowboys. Homer was born on July 23, 1955 to Wilbur Gimble Adams and Maggie Mae Adams. Homer was a member of the Marines and then joined the Army where he served as a military police officer. After leaving the service, Homer followed in his father’s steps and became a local barber in Tyler and later became a long-haul truck driver.
Homer was preceded in death by his father Wilbur Gimble Adams and his brother, Grady Mack Adams. Homer is survived by his wife, Cara Francis Adams and his mother, Maggie Mae Haynes. He is also survived by his three stepchildren that he loved like his own; Tosha Lashelle Putz, Amber Nicole Alexander and Brandon James Adcock. He has six granddaughters: Ashtyn Brown, Cami Putz, Alexandria Adcock, Kynleigh Putz, Nora Adcock and Zeph Adcock. He has three grandsons: Caydence Brown, Levi McGee and Tucker Putz and also one great-grandchild, Ella Kain.
Services will be held at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Wednesday June 13, 2018 from 6-8pm with the funeral following on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 10:00am. Pallbearers are Curtis Putz, Bobby Coffman, Don Lopez, Floyd Davis, Jim Morriss and Tony Stegall and honorary pallbearer Naaman Ware Allen. The service will be performed by Brother Scotty Short of Omen Baptist Church.
