Duggan, Marilou M., 92, of St. Petersburg. Fl. passed away peacefully Monday June 11, 2018 at 8:15 A.M. in Rogers, AR. Born Marion Louise McCall September 5, 1925 in Chicago, Ill. Her youth was spent in Springfield, Ill where she met and married Thomas J. Duggan Jr. after his return from WWII. Together they raised 3 Children; Patricia, Thomas , and Dexter.
After the family moved to Chicago, Ill in 1954 Marilou was employed by Marshall Field & Co. as their women’s sports wear buyer for the Chicago Land and Suburban area stores. Upon Marilou and Tom separating,
She found employment with Spector Freight until they closed their doors. Following employment in order to keep her pension, Marilou went to Dallas, TX. and then to her beloved El Segundo, CA. where she was eventually able to retire.
It was during her life in CA that her childhood sweetheart, Matt Shaw, found her and reached out to her. The couple was lovingly referred to as M&M and were married April 12, 1997. They lived happily until his death February 5, 2002. Marilou returned to St. Petersburg to care for her son, Dexter, until she was declared blind and unable to drive. During that period of time Marilou found independent living at the Fountains of Boca Ciega Bay in St. Petersburg to her liking. She remained there four years until a fall. The 11 months fallowing the time of her first fall until her death, she required assistance and eventually nursing care.
A date for the Funeral service has not been scheduled. However, services will be at St Vincents Episcopal Church in St Petersburg with her ashes to be placed in The Garden next to the love of her life, Matt Shaw. Marilou was preceded in death by her Husband Thomas in 1996 and her son Dexter in 2016 and her sister Nancy Bramlet in 2016
Survivors include a Son - Thomas Joseph Duggan III, Denver, Colorado; Daughter-Patricia Ann Johnson Rogers, Arkansas; 3 Grand children :Jennifer Young, Brooke Payne, and Joshua Johnson; 10 great grandchildren; her niece Becky Heriaud of Scottsdale, Az; 2 nephews, Robert Bramlet of Rochester, NY and John Bramlet of Chicago Ill. And 6 grand nieces and nephews.
