William “Bill” Warren Shelley, age 69, of Williamston, Michigan passed away in Lansing, MI on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 following a short battle with cancer. Bill was born in Detroit, MI on November 30, 1948. He graduated from Redford High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University.
He was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Amy Shelley and infant sister Edith. Surviving is his sister Patricia Shelley of Williamston, Michigan.
Bill proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the US Army. Following his military service, Bill served as a Special Agent with the United State Treasury Department. Bill will be remembered for his quick wit and strong opinions. His many interests included military history, travel, theater, sports and the hunt for that winning slot machine. There was no bigger fan, analyst or critic of the Detroit Red Wings than Bill. A lifetime dog lover, Bill spent countless hours caring for and spoiling his sister’s dogs.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to the many friends who provided support and comfort to Bill and Pat during this difficult time.
The visitation and funeral service will take place at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home Williamston Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 29, 2018. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 5 to 8 pm and one half hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will take place following the funeral service at Summit Cemetery in Williamston, Michigan.
