Thomas Ward, known to friends as "Tommy," a resident of Spokane, passed away on June 26, 2018, at the age of 85 years.
Tommy was born 1932 in Wendell ID, to Martin and Lois Ward. The family moved in 1937 to Moscow ID, where he lived most of his life. He went to the Idaho State School for the Deaf and Blind. In 1971 he started to work for Wally Orvik of Moscow, Idaho as an auto body painter. In 1986 he was awarded employee of the year for Moscow ID. In 2006 Tom moved to Spokane to live with his daughter.
Tom’s passion was bowling and was outstanding member of the USBC for many years. He was a member of the local Elk and Moose clubs while living in Moscow. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, which he enjoyed with his brother Don.
Tom is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Carl Richards of Spokane, son and daughter-in-law Tim and Michelle Ward of Tacoma. He also leaves 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bruce and Don Ward, sister Margret Thorton and Son Toby.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Moscow Cemetery. There will be a reception with friends and family following the service to celebrate his life.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or Horizon Hospice of Spokane.
