PELL CITY – Charlie Mae Bailey Moreè, of Pell City, Alabama passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the age of 95. She was a wonderful wife, mother, granny and great-granny who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. She enjoyed being with her family and never tired of taking care of them. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Pell City for 42 years and an active member of other Baptist Churches in Leeds, Odenville and Birmingham throughout her lifetime where she participated in various organizations including WMU and teaching Sunday School classes. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, her flower garden, playing golf, traveling, decorating tables for Jolly Elders and collecting dolls.
She was born near Leeds, Alabama on March 13, 1923 to Rosie Myrtle Standifer Bailey and Charlie Lee Bailey. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Rose Moreè and her husband of 66 ½ years Elmer Eugene Moreè, Sr. She is survived by her son, Gene Moreè (Donna); two daughters, Amy Wicker (John) and Nancy Kilgroe (Ken); six grandchildren, Ashleigh Hoffmann (Brian), Jamie Waldrop (David), Sally McKay (Travis), Zach Wicker (Morgan), Lara Kilgroe, Paul Kilgroe; 10 Great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, July 1 at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Pell City. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Church.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the nurses and care givers at The Village at Cook Springs – Springs Manor and Wisteria for the love and care given to their Mother. Also, many thanks to the staff and sitters from All Caring Home Health.
Pallbearers will be Zach Wicker, Paul Kilgroe, Travis McKay, Brian Hoffmann, David Waldrop.
