Elizabeth Miriam Jenkins, 94 was born to Carl and Rhea Jenkins on April 2, 1924 in Yonkers, New York. She was the fifth child of 11 children. She was the daycare provider for her grandchildren while their parents worked. Elizabeth was a very loving and caring person that loved to play bingo, pokeno and slot machines.
Elizabeth was known to some as Mama, Betty Liz, Aunt Bet, Mom, Gram. She was a big military supporter. She was a cheerful giver when it came to family and charitable organizations. She was the biggest Elvis Presley fan that ever lived.
She leaves to celebrate her life five children Florence Samuels, Rhea Newton, Harriet Nelson, Curtis Newton Jr.(Wanda) and Lisa Miller-Santiago; three brothers, Thomas Jenkins, Arthur Jenkins, Alfred Jenkins; one sister Barbara Bagley (William), Twelve grandchildren Maureen Deanes (Prentiss), Curtis Newton (Angie), Jean Nelson, Miriam Heath (Jessie), Elizabeth Nelson, Roberta Nelson, Gregory Samuels , Teresa Samuels, Naknisha Nelson, Curtis Newton( Jarreau) , Chanel Newton, Mia Newton, 19 great grandchildren Curtis Newton(Tank), Earlie Marsh, Jamilla Peterson, Sekeya Nelson, Christopher Spaw, Jayquan Scott, Kentrial Newton, Robert Johnson, Davonn Nelson, Khalil Nelson, Sherkell Frye-Samuels, Jada Frye-Samuels, Jessica Heath, Jessie Heath III, Najee Nelson, Sierra Nelson, Da’Nielah Elliot, Mckinley Newton, nine great-great grandchildren, Caliyah Newton, Saniiyah Marsh, Saana Newton, Camiyah Newton, Trae Spaw, Messiah Scott, Zaaikeme Marsh and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. She is predeceased by her five sisters, Evelyn, Dorothy, Gloria, Florence, Margaret and one brother Carl as well as, her common-law husband Curtis Mckinley Newton Sr.
