He was a retired Master Sergeant from the United States Army after serving 20 years of service; he also retired from the New Cumberland Army Depot as an Annunition Specialist with 20 years of service.
He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Medal with 20 years of service.
Miguel is survived by 5 sisters, Geneva Lucero, Gloria Molina, Josie Guzman, Mary Lou Ramirez and Teresa Evaro; 2 brothers, Manuel and Robert Eugene Cadena; from Las Cruces, N.M. a stepdaughter, Carol Ann Johnson; from Kentucky; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Miguel was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Lower Paxton Lions Club, Susquehanna Township Golden Agers, Linglestown American Legion Post 272, AARP and NARFE Chapter 1465.
Preceded in death by his wife, Ella June Cadena; brothers, Vicente Cadena Jr., and Rudy Cadena; sisters, Isabel Rios, Yolanda Esquivel; and stepson, Jim Gross.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 420 N. Progress Ave., Harrisburg, PA. Burial will be at the Rolling Greens Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the church.
