Frank was a native Charlottean, born to Joe Frank Bowers Sr. and Margaret Neville Bowers. He graduated from East Mecklenburg High School in 1961 and attended East Carolina University before serving in the U.S. Army for 6 years. He was a very successful sales rep with Hand Held Products (Honeywell) and traveled the world until his retirement in 2009. Frank was a friend to many, all of whom he loved dearly. If you were a friend of Frank's, you were a friend for life. He accepted every day as a gift from God and helped everyone he knew with empathy and good deeds. He was a loyal friend to all who knew him and his sense of humor and honesty will always be cherished by family and friends.
Frank is survived by his wife, Sissy and daughter, Brittany, sisters; Sylvia Campbell (Clyde), Becky Wood, and Judy McCarter (Bobby), as well as nieces and nephews, cousins, and countless friends. Per Frank's request there will be no memorial service, but please raise your glass and toast to good friends in honor of Frank. Donations can be made to the Merkel Cell Carcinoma Research Fund at the University of Washington or to the Salvation Army.
