Heather H. Chase, formerly of Ports O Call, North Palm Beach, passed away peacefully on July 3rd in Bethlehem, PA. She was 83 years old. Heather was born in NYC on April 4, 1935 as a fraternal twin to Dorothea McVickar and Robert Baxter.
She grew up in Westbury Long Island, graduated from St Mary’s School in Garden City. Heather was athletic and fiercely competitive both in field hockey and basketball.
She met Robert Nohe in 1957 and they wed in Westbury the following year. Heather and Bob raised their three children in Garden City over the next 20 years.
In 1979 Heather moved to Florida where she would spend most of the remainder of her life. She and her beloved husband Theodore ‘Smiley’ Chase owned and operated a successful commercial sign company in West Palm Beach for 20 years.
Heather was active in her church, Jupiter First United Church of Christ, where she participated in many groups over the years.
Heather was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her twin sister, Barrie Panthen; her two brothers, George and David Baxter; her three children, Susan Quinn, Barbara Sklarsky, and Bruce Nohe; her three grandchildren, Cameron, Courtland, and Dana Mahini and a great grandchild, Ariel McNulty-Mahini. Heather was the loving God mother to her first cousin, Paris Kay McVickar of Concord, MA.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July12, 2018 at 11:00 am at Jupiter First Church, 1475 Indian Creek Pkwy, Jupiter, FL. A with a reception will follow at the church. The Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, Jupiter, FL is assisting the family with arrangements.
