Roger was born on September 15, 1927 in Norwich the son of Harold and Gertrude (Warner) Barr. He grew up in the Norwich area and attended the Norwich schools. He worked for Norwich Pharmaceuticals for over 30 years on the company’s maintenance crew. Roger had also worked for the Follett farm on the East River Road in No. Norwich as a caretaker.
Roger loved his Chevy trucks (red only) and his Genesee (Red Eye) beer. He was known for his mischievous smile, his boisterous voice and kept many a nurse on their toes.
All of the staff at CMH Senior Living must be thanked for taking care of Rog Pog in his later years.
Roger is survived by his nieces and nephews; Cheryl Kerpez, Christine (Wayne) Husted, Alan (Kandice) Richer, Ronald (Janette) Richer, Marc (Rose) Richer and Timothy Myles along with great nieces and great nephews.
Roger was predeceased by his sisters Jane (Barr) Burke and Virginia (Barr) Richer.
A graveside service for Roger will be held on Tuesday, July 10, at 11:00 am from the North Norwich Cemetery. The Rev. Jeremy Stopford will officiate.
There will be no calling hours.
