Bonni Leigh Barga Patterson was born in Aurora, Colorado on September 16, 1978 and walked into the arms of God on July 4, 2018. She is survived by those who loved her most: her husband of 16 years, William M. “Billy” Patterson, and two beautiful children of whom she was so proud: Jacob and Kylie. Also surviving are her grieving family: loving parents Pat and Fred Barga of Queen Creek, AZ; brother Nathan Barga and his fiancée Sarah Trickey of Littleton, CO; brother Stephen and his wife Jessica, of Gilbert, AZ. Extended family is in Idaho, Arizona, California, and Texas. There are also hundreds of friends who survive her and we all grieve her loss – and will love her forever.
Bonni was a 1996 graduate of Smoky Hill High School in Aurora. She met Billy in 2001; they married on May 25, 2002. Bonni loved to cook, and she studied at the Culinary School of the Art Institute of Colorado. She loved the Denver Broncos, cooking, music, and her friends. Most of all, she loved her family.
Her family was her world. Her pride and joy. She lived fully with a passion for fun and adventure. Her husband was the love of her life and her children were her greatest accomplishments. It is hard to limit the magnificent person we lost to just simply words, in fact it is almost impossible. You see, Bonni's energy lit up every room she entered. She was a truly beautiful force to behold. With her stunning vibrant red locks of hair, her infectious personality and a contagious laugh, all contained within a tiny frame and sweet feminine style, she was completely unforgettable. She was brilliant and quick-witted. Her culinary skills were a true art that she crafted with such passion. She possessed a gift of hospitality and genuine compassion that never ceased. The unconditional love and her heart drove her to fight fearlessly for her loved ones and for what was right. She understood that we all must lift up and take care of one another. She also felt everything, all the good, the bad and the ugly. But she chose to believe in the good of people.
Bonni was a true philanthropist, who had a huge heart and a compassionate desire to help anyone in need. As a testament to her heart having no limits, her spirit of philanthropy will live on long after her passing, by her organ donation. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family suggests donations to Metro Crisis Services of Denver, website: http://www.metrocrisisservices.org/ or the Art Institute of Colorado, Culinary Division https://www.artinstitutes.edu/denver/academics/culinary (Call 1-800-275-2420 and ask for donation information). There has been a GoFundMe page set up to help family with funeral costs: www.gofundme.com/remembering-bonni.
