Jim was a self-made man, spending most of his life on Lake Cable in Canton, Ohio. Nothing was more important to him than his family and friends. Anyone who ever met Jim, gravitated toward his infections passion for activities; skiing, fishing, boating on the lake, partying, fixing things, and philanthropy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elodie DeJane and daughter, Shari DeJane. Jim is survived by his sister, Pagan Platt, son, Steve DeJane, and dog, Giddeon. He will be missed by all who loved him and looked to him as a father figure, a brother, and a friend.
A special thank you to Annette, Dr. Khan, and the entire ICU team at Mercy Medical Center for their wonderful care and compassion. There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, September 8, 2018 from 4 to 11ish at Lake Cable Club House.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stark County Humane Society.
