Melanie Sims Holland, age 57, passed away peacefully the morning of July 11th at Northside Hospital in Dunwoody. Although she had spent many years suffering with Kidney and Heart Disease, her last days were spent in peace.
Melanie was born in Rome, Georgia on April 27, 1961. She was the daughter to Minister of Music, Reverend Bobby E. Sims and mother Marlene Sims.
Melanie worked as Back Office Support in the Financial Portfolio Industry, and truly enjoyed the daily puzzles that often accompanied financial programming. She also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life including sitting in the sun, enjoying nature, cross stitching, crocheting, reading, watching tv/movies and above all else, spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her sister Alison Pendrey (JC), her 2 daughters, Nancy Perrin (Gary) and Laura Horton (Jeremy), and 3 grandchildren, Penny, Courter and Raelyn.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Melanie touched are invited to join us in celebrating her life on Saturday, July 21st, at 12 PM for a time of visitation, with a Memorial Service immediately following at 1 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Kidney Fund
