Doris J Clayton passed away on July 15, 2018 at the age of 60, after a battle with cancer. She is survived by spouse Terry Clayton, sons Douglas Clayton, Christopher Hess and Joseph Clayton, and a daughter Michelle Watts. Her sisters Carol PaImes, Geraldine (Sis) Nacarato, Tammy Hamilton, and brother Tony Morton. She also has two sisters of the heart, Jean Thomas and Rita Rutledge. She has many grandchildren and also a great grandson.
Doris was a member of the Vineyard Church of God in Bartow. She enjoyed her church family and was blessed when listening to Pastor Herman Music preach the Word of God. Doris was employed by Publix Supermarkets at the corporate office. She enjoy her job and was always talking about the other family she worked with. She loved when the girls got together.
She had some hobbies that she enjoyed. One was painting, she has produced many beautiful works of art. She also enjoyed canning food. She loved canning tomatoes, okra, peppers, corn, beans and peas. The work was hard but when everyone helped it was a family project that made some good food. She collected quite a few valuable and vintage mason jars that of course were never used in the canning process. She had a fascination with sewing machines. Most were vintage that she would buy and fix. Some for resale and others to keep.
Services will be at Ott Laughlin Glen Abbey funeral home Thursday, July 19th . The viewing will be from 10 to 11, with services starting at 11.
