Price, Joseph Turner, 94, passed away July 15, 2018. He was born in Nashville where he attended East High School, and later joined the Marine Corps where he served as a combat veteran in World War II in Guam and Iwo Jima. He later worked as a supervisor at the Nashville Gas Company where he retired.
He was a lifetime member of the Christian faith where he taught Sunday School for over 50 years. He participated in the Room In the Inn program for the homeless and regularly visited the sick. He believed in helping people and throughout his life made many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Louise Price, with whom he enjoyed a happy marriage of 67 years, and his granddaughter Brooke Price. Survived by his son Joseph Price, daughter-in-law Patricia Price, grandson Bart Price, wife Angie, great-grandson Charles, and many wonderful friends who will surely miss him.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2018 in the Eastland Chapel. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
