Sina Louise Kinslow [Nelson], age 84, died unexpectedly surrounded by family on July 27, 2018, at Charlton Methodist in Duncanville, TX. She was born in Lawton, Ok on May 8, 1934 to Theresa Wallis and John Nelson.
She graduated from Tishomingo High School in Tishomingo, OK and moved to Dallas after graduation. While living in Dallas she worked as a bookkeeper and met her future husband, Jon Kinslow. They were married for 53 years and had 2 children. Sina was a loving mother and grandmother. She was active in her children's lives, her church and her community.
Sina was Choctaw-Cherokee and proud of her heritage. She was fierce and loyal to those she loved. When her children were young she was a little league announcer and an avid bowler. She played on numerous leagues with her husband, Jon. The majority of her life she worked for the local school districts in the cafeteria. When she retired, she worked for the Texas Rangers taking tickets until the age of 80. She enjoyed traveling through helping her daughter move. She assisted with every one of her daughter's moves; either helping unpack or watching her grandchildren. Her family and friends will always remember her spirit, laugh and wit. To many she was a bright light with a giant heart.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jon Kinslow, of Grand Prairie, TX.
She is survived by her daughter, Natalie Cruz and husband, Dario; son, Jon David Kinslow; grandsons: Jonathan Cruz and Matthew Cruz; sister Susan Cook and husband, Ron; brothers: Robert Browning and wife, Norma and William Browning and wife, Nina., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Bean Massey Burge Funeral Home from 10-12pm.
Funeral service will follow at 12pm with interment at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank her Home Instead caregivers, Misty and Karen; and Reyna for the wonderful care that they bestowed on Sina through the years. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
