COLUMBIA - Patti Sauls Kobliski, of Columbia, SC, age 70, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2018 after a brief illness. She was born in Columbia, SC on April 18, 1948, was raised in Lake City, SC and moved to Mullins, SC in 1958.
After graduating from Wingate College, Patti left the small town of Mullins to live and work in the Nation's Capital for Rep. John L. McMillan. An article published during her time in DC described her as the Fox of Capitol Hill, noting her ability to get things done and accomplished in the political arena. It was in Washington, DC she met her future husband, Tom Kobliski, while out with friends after work.
Patti was most proud of their daughter, Blaire. After moving back to Columbia, Patti worked diligently with the Columbia City Ballet and was in the Directors Circle there for over ten years with her best friend, Jan Kellet. She was also a Dance Mom with the Columbia City Jazz Company. She was known for her tender heart and fondness for shelter animals.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Kobliski; daughter, Blaire Kobliski; brother, McRoy Sauls (Vicky); uncle, David Gaines (Annette); niece, Shellie Sauls Holt (Michael); half-sisters, Elaine Richardson (Joseph) and Jackie Bruce (David); numerous loved ones; and her beloved dog, Max.
A celebration of Patti's life will take place in the near future and will include her love for Flamingos.
