Wayne Robert Dykhuis, age 85, of Hamilton, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Resthaven in Holland. Wayne was born in Holland in 1933. He was a graduate of Holland High School and worked at General Electric from 1957 to 1991. Wayne married the love of his life, Sue, in 1954, and they spent 63 wonderful years together. Wayne was a devoted family man, and a loving father, and grandfather to his children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wayne enjoyed woodworking, bicycling, camping, and traveling the country with Brenner Tours. He was an active member of Hamilton Reformed Church. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Hertz, in 2016. He is survived by his wife, Sue; children, Randy Dykhuis and Shannon White of Lansing, Karen and Bob Van Meeteren of Holland, and Mike Hertz of Holland; six grandchildren, Amanda Dykhuis, Jenna and Seth Teater, Matthew Van Meeteren, Melissa and Vern Ramsey, Mitchell and Jennifer Hertz, and Megan and Reed Dykstra; six great-grandchildren, Makenna Ramsey, Eli Ramsey, Marek Hertz, Kaiya Hertz, Sadie Dykstra, Clifton Dykstra; brothers and sisters, Evelyn and Bob Wassink, Dorothy and Dave Klaasen, Lee Dykhuis; in-laws, Cal Kempker, Dave Kempker, Betty Van Loo; many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Hamilton Reformed Church, 3554 M-40 Hamilton, MI 49419 with Pastor Adam Van Der Stoep and Pastor Ron Lugten officiating. Interment Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 2-4 pm also at the church.
