Melba L. Stephens Kuntz

Melba L. Stephens Kuntz, 91, of St. Charles, Illinois, passed away at the Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva, Illinois on Wednesday, August 1, 2018. She was born on September 4, 1926 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Homer and Balsora (Ground) Stephens. She married Dr. W.L. (Bud) Kreft on June 15, 1947 in Peoria. She later married Donald L. Kuntz on July 1, 1972. He preceded her in death in 1981 in Wayne, Illinois. She is also preceded in death by an infant brother, Glen.

Surviving are four children, Krisandra L. Kreft of Carbondale, Colorado, Kimball Kreft of Grand Junction, Colorado, Kipp Kreft of Chagrin Falls, Ohio and Kelly “K.C.” Kreft of Homestead, Florida; six grandchildren, Bryan Kreft, Christopher Kreft, Peter Kreft-Mercer, Adam Kreft-Mercer, Emma Wise and Claire Kreft; two great grandchildren and one brother, Gerald D. (Helen M.) Stephens of Peoria, Illinois.

She was a member of the Coast Guard Auxillary in Key Largo, Florida and the Peoria Dental Auxillary.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the Davison Fulton Woodland Chapel, 2021 N. University Ave, Peoria. The Rev. Jack Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral chapel. Burial will be in the Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor in her name.
