Greenbush—Delmar E. “Del” Brown, 69, died peacefully August 1, 2018 at his residence with family by his side. He was born October 30, 1948 in Presque Isle a son of Delmar O. and Mabel (Henderson) Brown.
Del proudly served in the US Army and was stationed in German and served as a member of the Maine Army National Guard. Following the service, he was employed at the Old Town Paper Mill from 1977-2010. Del enjoyed retirement immensely. While he was a man of few words, he loved his family, friends, and life. Over the years he enjoyed many hobbies including bowling, shooting pool, golf, his John Deere tractor, and four wheeler. He was a life member of BPOE Elks Lodge #1287 of Old Town.
He is survived by his wife Ann Marie Brown; three daughters Penny Brown and her partner Melvin Stokes of Milford; Nicki Dionne and her husband Kevin of Milford, and Shannon Brown of Bradley; two grandchildren Nicholas Levesque and Devin Levesque and great grandchildren Braydon and Lyric Levesque; brother Joey Brown and his wife Kathi of Presque Isle and sister Marilyn Putnam and her husband Charlie of Mapleton; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.
A celebration of his life gathering will be held 4-7PM Wednesday August 8, 2018 at Birmingham Funeral Home where a service will be held at 6:00PM with members of the Old Town Elks. A reception will follow in the downstairs lounge at the Old Town Elks Hall immediately following. Burial with military honors will be conducted later in the month at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
