He attended Marion Military Institute and was a graduate of the University
of Alabama (Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity) and Jones School of Law. He
was an active member of First United Methodist Church, a former Member
of the Society of Pioneers of Montgomery and current member of the Sons
of Confederate Veterans, Sons of the American Revolution, Montgomery
County Historical Society, Montgomery Genealogical Society, and the East
Montgomery Historical Society. As a very young man, he developed a
strong interest in history, genealogy, and aviation and he never ceased
pursuing these interests. Although his profession was in insurance and real
estate, his passion for flying was so intense that he earned a commercial
pilot's license with instrument rating, became an FAA Certified Flight
Instructor and taught flying for six years. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.
Graveside services will be at Greenwood cemetery on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 3:00 pm.

He is survived by one son, Bill Kierce (Kim), and three grandchildren: Phillip, Christa, and Anna; one brother, Clyde Davis Broadway, Sautee, GA.; and a Special Friend, Neal Westbrook.
