Rhoda Mae Norris, age 94, of Knoxville, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 at home surrounded by family. She was a member of Friendly Chapel Baptist Church. Rhoda retired from Standard Knitting Mills after 40 plus years. She had a passion for cooking and she was known for her chicken and dumplings. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Rev. Frank (Ted) Norris; parents, Henry and Mary Young; her 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Rhoda is survived by her daughter, Doris (Bill) Knight; son, Kenneth (Linda) Norris; brother, Edgar Young; grandchildren, Kim (Jeff), Ginger (Bill), Anthony (Lisa) and Angie (Kevin); great-grandchildren, Erica (Justin), Olivia, Jake, London, Brooklynn, Bryson and Kennedy; and her newest great-great-granddaughter, Everly and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks goes to Caroline, Alicia and Amedisys Hospice for their wonderful care. Family will receive friends Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 5:00p-7:00p at Berry Funeral Home, 3704 Chapman Hwy, with funeral service to follow at 7:00p with Rev. Jerry Crye and Rev. Buster Gibson officiating. Family will meet at Berry Funeral home at 9:00 am Wednesday, August 8th, with a funeral procession to Mt. Olive Cemetery for a 10:00 am graveside service.
