She was born November 2, 1935 in Elizabeth, WV, a daughter of the late Elmer E. and LouVernie (Hainey) Woodring. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Dwayne Dye; daughter Debbie Dye; three brothers and three sisters.
Wanda was a graduate of Belpre High School. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, traveling, missionary trips and canning food. Wanda was a mother figure to everyone who knew her and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, David Dye of Texas, Brian Dye of Washington, WV; daughters Susie Dye and Cindy Dye both of Parkersburg; brother Elmer Edward Woodring; sister Alma Ankney; 10 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and her caregiver and family who has cared for Wanda for the past two years, Justina James .
Service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, August 9, 2018, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Randy Kochersberger officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at the funeral home.
