Age 61, of Kettering, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 4, 2018. Jim was born November 14, 1956 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. He graduated in 1975 from Alter High School and was a graduate of Sinclair. Jim grew up in a large family filled with love and laughter. Jim was a golf enthusiast and developed his love of golf at an early age as a caddy for Moraine Country Club while caddying with his brothers. He also spent many years on the ice playing in hockey leagues with his father. On September 23, 1989, he married the love of his life, Terri, and they began their lives together. Their family was complete with the births of their two beautiful children, Spencer and Sophia, along with their three adorable pups. Jim was a loyal and dependable employee at CompuNet Clinical Labs for the past 32 years. Jim was a loving husband; father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He was an incredible person known for his generous nature and kindness to others. His family always came first. He was so proud of Spencer and Sophie and all their accomplishments. Besides his love of family, Jim had a passion for landscaping. He would often be seen outside his house working through his latest project, creating beauty around his and Terri’s home. His love of outdoors and appreciation of nature were passed on to his children. Jim’s sharp wit was legendary among family and friends and he would have everyone laughing for hours. He was truly loved and his absence will be forever felt by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Ruth Kerivan; nephews, Patrick and Daniel Weddell; parents-in-law, Lewis and Shirley Reinheimer; brothers-in-law Patrick Smith and Arthur Nabinger. Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Terri, son, Spencer and daughter, Sophia; his brothers; Richard, David, and Donald; his sisters; Lisa, Tara (Clint) Weddell, Patti (John Walter), Mia (John) O’Malley. He is also survived by sisters-in-law LuAnn Smith and Carin Nabinger and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim’s desire was for Sophie to complete her college education.
