Fermin was born on the island of Cuba in the small town of Guira de Melena to Adolfo Menendez and Antonia Puig on October 11,1950. He came to the US in 1980 as a Cuban refugee. Fermin was an avid music and sports fan, his favorite sport being baseball. He had 2 children in his first marriage. Fermin later met Nelida Arroyo and raised her 3 children as if they were his own. Fermin treasured his family more than anything.
Although he was ill for many years he was always laughing and smiling. For anyone was lucky enough to have his friendship knows how dedicated and helpful he was to all he cared about. Fermin was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Fermin is survived by his children: Steven Arroyo, George Cuff, Lazara Menendez, Jessica Cuff and Enzo Menendez who cared for him deeply and will miss him dearly; his grandchildren, who he loved most in life: Melissa Sanchez, Giselle Cuff, Anthony Sanchez, Jordan Cuff, Alison Ortiz, Vanessa Sepulveda, Omar Ortiz, Steven Arroyo Jr and Alissa Nelly Sepulveda. They will remember and cherish all the precious memories they made with him.
“Dad, we love you and we will always carry you with us in our heart. Even though you are no longer with us it gives us great comfort knowing that you will be reunited with our wonderful mother, Nelida Arroyo. May you both rest in peace; we love and miss you both.”
