On Monday, August 6, 2018, (Leonard) Jack Glauser, loving father and step father of four children passed away at the age of 89 at his home in El Segundo, CA. Jack was born on May 20, 1929 in Erie, PA to Earl and Jean (Ferguson) Glauser. On May 2, 1951 he married Darris LaFay Glauser. They raised two sons, Michael and Roy Daniel. They were married 26 years and though they could no longer live together, they maintained a good relationship through the years. In 1979 he married Sondra Bundy and was step father to her son Ken and daughter Deborah. Jack lived unmarried from 1988 until his passing.
Jack was preceded in death by his father Earl, mother Jean, and brothers Merle and Dick. He is survived by his sister Nancy, his sons Roy Daniel, Michael, and Ken, daughter Deborah, and 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Growing up Jack was involved with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jack first worked for his father’s TV and Electronics repair business. His other careers and jobs included Machinist and a Manager in the Aerospace industry, Real Estate agent, Large Apt complex owner/maintainer, as well as running his own Property Management business up until he retired. Jack was very involved in the Boy Scouts of America program as a Scout Master and Explorer Leader with his sons. Jack had many hobbies. He was an early pioneer in radio-controlled airplanes and along with Michael was a test pilot for an R&D company which later became the military drone program. He also enjoyed boating, water skiing, fishing, target shooting, cooking and baking and video editing on computers. He had a special lifelong long passion for photography which he passed on to his sons. He even had his own darkroom where he mentored his sons in the fine art of developing. Around age 60 he took up ballroom dancing and won many age group awards in local competitions. Jack was bull headed at times, methodical and purposeful in his thinking, hardworking, kind, eager to help, and always had a smile for the ladies. His advice was based in wisdom or not given at all. He was well loved, and he will be missed.
