He was a graduate of Walker County High, Walker College and The University of Alabama where he earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting. He then enjoyed a thirty year career with Farm Bureau and Alfa Insurance. He was highly active in his community and loved serving others.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m., today, Aug. 9, 2018, at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. in the Kilgore-Green Chapel. Levi Sides will officiate. Burial will be at Walker Memory Gardens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Grace Ingle; brother, Gerald Ingle; sister, Carolyn Ingle Williams; and in-laws, Roy and Aurilla Sherer.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Billie Jo Sherer Ingle; children, Phil Ingle (DeeDee) and Kyle Ingle; sister-in-law, Bonnie Ingle; brother-in-law, David Williams; grandchildren, Lauren Ingle Bright (Neal), Kristi Ingle Alexander (Brian), Christopher Ingle, Natalie Ingle, Annie Kate Ingle, and Banks Ingle; great-grandchildren, Lainey and Hattie Bright, and Reed and Brodie Alexander; a number of loving nieces and nephews; and many friends.
The family would like to express gratitude to special friends and caregivers, Visiting Angels and Journey Hospice.
Pallbearers will be Brian Alexander, Neal Bright, Tracy Ingle, Brad Ingle, Allen Williams, Andy Williams, Jeremy Argent, and Scott Deason. Honorary pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of Sixth Avenue Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Sixth Avenue Church of Christ or Indian Creek Youth Camp.
