Dale W. Wells, of Grand Blanc, age 80, died Wednesday, August 8, 2018 peacefully at home surrounded by family. Cremation has taken place and a memorial in his honor will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 at 12pm at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 6494 S. Belsay Rd., Grand Blanc. The family will receive visitors from 10am until the time of service. The Rev. Rodger Good and the Rev. Julia Bratton officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Congregational United Church of Christ. Dale was born on May 24, 1938 to the late George “Wiley” and Dorothy (Oderkirk) Wells. He was a graduate of Grand Blanc High School and was a lifelong resident of Grand Blanc. He attended both Flint Junior College and MSU where he majored in music. He married Shirley Booth on August 6, 1960. They shared 58 very loving and fun years together. Dale was an active member of First Congregational Church. He sang in the choir and was the choir director for many years. He also sang with the Flint Arrowhead Barbershop Chorus. His love of music never ended. Dale loved traveling, camping, and spending time with family and friends. He and Shirley were blessed to share many beautiful trips. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and being present for all band, choir, and theatrical performances. He never wanted to miss anything that they were involved in. Dale is survived by his loving wife, Shirley; children: Kenneth (Kelly) Wells, Kimberly (Ladd) Goodall , both of Grand Blanc, Kevin (Jennifer) Wells of Cheboygan; grandchildren: Tyler, Zachary, and Gabrielle Wells; brother, Kirk Wells, of West Branch; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley and Dorothy Wells; sister, Madeline Dunlap; niece, Marcy; brother-in-law, John Dunlap, Sr.; sister-in-law, Beverly Wells.
