He was born July 10, 1928 in Mather, a son of the late John and Susie Guba Barno.
Mr. Barno received his Master’s Degree from West Virginia University.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post #954 of Jefferson.
Mr. Barno retired in 1994 after teaching school for 39 years in Jefferson-Morgan School District., where he was also a high school coach of football, wrestling and baseball. He was a member of the NEA and PSEA
He was a member of Jefferson Baptist Church.
On March 22, 1953 he married Doris Wagner, who survives.
Also surviving are four children, Cheryl (Larry) Kuharcik of Mather, Charles (Judy) Barno of Ellenton, FL, Barbara (Greg) White of Altoona, and Susan Clapp of Forest, VA; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are four brothers, George Barno, John Barno, Andy Barno, and Frank Barno; and six sisters, Anna Clipper, Helen DeStetan, Mary Matyi, Julia Duda, Marge Murray, and Emma Barno.
