ELROD – James Farrell Noland, age 74, of Elrod, Ala., died August 8, 2018, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Max Stripling, Rev. Don Springer and Rev.George Shaddix officiating. Burial will follow in Dunn's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be Friday, August 10, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jewel Noland and father, Rev. James L. Noland.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Peggy Noland; daughters, Teresa Bussey and Pam Willis; sons, Jeff Noland (Cindy) and Chance Noland (Haley); sisters, Marilyn McFerrin and Brenda Noland; brother, Sherrill Noland; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Farrell was an active member of Dunn's Creek Baptist Church serving on several committees. He was the owner of Quality Office Machines and served on the Buhl, Elrod Holman Water Board for several years.
He was a wonderful friend and neighbor to everyone in Echola and was always glad to help anyone he could.
He loved his family and was a great influence on his children. He was a devoted husband and partner. He took pride and worked very hard at everything he did.
Pallbearers will be Billy Patton, Lynwood Springer, Mike Anders, Danny Anders, Joe Mills and Jack Trimm.
Honorary pallbearers are past and present employees of Quality Office Machines, friends and neighbors of Echola Community, board members and employees of Buhl, Elrod and Holman Water Authority, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Duke, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Cochran, Mr. and Mrs. Danny Jacobs, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Duke, Mr. and Mrs. Danny Mills, Mr. and Mrs. James Hewitt and Mr. Rayburn ""Babe"" Wilburn.
