Graveside services will take place at 3PM at Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Memorials may be directed towards the Alzheimer’s Association.
Rex was born June 11,1939 to George and Darlene (Tucker) Comstock in Cedar, IA. He graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1957, enlisted in the Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1961. He was united to the love of his life, Mary Youngberg, on January 19,1958 at First Christian Church in Oskaloosa. They had 4 children together. Rex worked in sales for Tone’s Spice for thirty plus years. To keep active in his retirement years Rex delivered flowers for the Ankeny Hy-Vee, which he greatly enjoyed because it allowed him to make people’s day with the gift of flowers.
Rex was a member of the Ankeny Christian Church and was strong in his faith. Rex was loved by everyone who meet him and he never met a person he couldn’t talk too. But most of all, Rex loved his family. He loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who meant the world to him.
Rex is survived by his wife, Mary; children: Jim (Deb) Comstock of Ceresco, NE, Bud (Laura) Comstock of Carlisle, Anne (Mark) Stokely of Bondurant and Kathy Comstock (John Consolver) of Johnston; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and his brother, Donald Comstock of AZ. Rex is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Wesley.
