George Leslie DeLapp

George Leslie DeLapp was born August 21, 1932 in Independence, Mo. Son of Bishop G Leslie and Ardyce Case DeLapp. He joined the Air Force and attended Cadet School where he graduated as a Navigator/Bombardier and served 5 years active and 4 years as a reservist.

George graduated from Graceland University and the University of Missouri at Kansas City with a Doctor of Laws degree. He married Betty Jo Flanagan in 1959 and had twin boys, Leslie and George DeLapp.

In 1976, he maried Marjorie Graeff who had 5 children, Dr David Graeff, John Graeff, Rebecca Curtis, Judith Smiglewski and Donna Graeff. George was a great help to Marjorie with the children.

George is survived by his wife of 42 years, 7 children, 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation service, August 24, 2018, 6pm to 8pm at St Marks Catholic Church. Burial Mass, August 25, 2018, 10am at St Marks. Burial with military honors in Woodlawn Cemetery.
