HICKORY— Betty Reeves Annas, 86, of Hickory passed away peacefully at Catawba Regional Hospice on August 29, 2018. Born Betty Louise Harris in Catawba County, on January 30, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Ethel Fox Harris. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harold Dean Reeves; brothers Leonard Harris and John Dolan Harris and his wife Barbara and a step-son Steven Lynn Annas. A charter member of Crossroads Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and other church activities. Betty loved the lord and expressed it daily in her life. She wrote many many cards, called many people to tell them about the Lord, she loved to encourage and help people in any way she could. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be missed dearly by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband Dyke Annas of the home; a daughter Cathy McCaslin (David) of Hickory; sons James Ray Brewer (Kathy) of Hickory and Dr. Harold Dean Reeves II (Christie) of Fort Mills, SC; step-son Michael Lee Annas (Karen) of Winston-Salem; grandchildren Todd McCaslin, Autumn Reeves, Kaitlyn Brewer, Peyton Brewer, and Leanne Engle (Ricky); great grandchild Calen Engle; Step-grandchildren Brittany Annas, Nancy Annas Redinger ; sister-in-law Becky Little and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 2, 2018 from 1:00pm to 2:45pm at Crossroads Baptist Church. The funeral will be Sunday, September 2, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Crossroads Baptist with Reverend Chris Huffman and Reverend Shawn Milburn officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
