Frances (Freedman) Kaplow, 90, entered into rest on Tuesday, August 28, 2018. Born in Revere, MA, she was a daughter of the late Clara (Welsh) and Maurice Freedman. She was predeceased by her sisters Ruth (Freedman) Blumberg and Selma (Freedman) Mandell. She was the beloved wife of Roy Kaplow for over 22 years before his passing in 1982.
Left to cherish Frances’ memory are her devoted daughters, Jordana Kaplow and Shana Kaplow; caring son-in-law Stephen Mitrione; cherished grandchild, Li Le Kaplow; loving nieces, nephews, and grand nieces, Lise Blumberg, Erica Blumberg, Roy (Mimi) Mandell, Gene (Antoinette) Mandell, Sabrina Mandell, and Cybelle Mandell. She also leaves behind many dear cousins and friends of all ages. She will be greatly missed and held in the hearts of so many.
‘Fenci’ was a lifelong artist, having studied at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. She was a gifted painter, poet, knitwear designer, jewelry designer and teacher. Her vibrant artistic work lives on as an extension of her ever-curious spirit. She and her husband, Roy, had a deep appreciation of education, the arts and sciences, and cultural travel, which they passed on to their two daughters. She approached life with a fun-loving, friendly and open spirit, always eager to make engaged connections with people everywhere she went.
A funeral service for Frances will be held on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Stanetsky-Hymanson Memorial Chapel, 10 Vinnin St., Salem, MA, with interment at Chevra Mishna/Pride of Lynn, Lynn, MA.
