Eric Benjamin Butcher “The Butcher Man”, 53, of City of Oakridge North, Texas, passed away on Monday September 3, 2018, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born May 1, 1965, in Kearny, Arizona, to Harrison Benjamin Butcher and Patricia Fitzhugh.
He is survived by his mother, Patricia Fitzhugh; wife, Eve Butcher; children, Erica Hosford, Dustin Butcher; and granddaughter, Tynsley Hosford; his siblings, Lisa and Marty Garrison and Bruce Fitzhugh; stepchildren, Nick Lashkoff, Lauren Lashkoff, Mallory Lashkoff/Gonzales, Marcus and Jenna Kemp; and his granddaughter, Penelope; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and loving friends.
Eric was raised in Little Rock Arkansas which he always called home. He graduated from Little Rock Central High school in 1983. He then served in the US army reserves.
Eric’s passion of Aeronomics began at the Spartan School of Aeronomics in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he graduated in May of 1997 with an Associate in Applied Science.
The Butcher Man worked as an A&P Mechanic, Engineering Specialist, Quality Control Inspector, Production Supervisor and finally as an Instructor at AIM in Houston, Texas, where his son, Dustin Butcher graduated with his A&P license.
Eric loved being with his family and smelling up the kitchen. He was always talking about airplanes and helicopters, and he loved teaching us about anything having to do with science, the atmosphere, cloud formation, mathematical equations, and the big bang theory. The man could fix anything; he was beyond a handyman at home and was always more than willing to help a friend in need, and God forbid he missed his Price is Right! Jump up and down baby!
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home. Immediately following the service, friends are invited to greet the family during a reception in Forest Park’s event room.
