Ina Gaynell Guinn, 91, entered into the arms of Jesus during the early morning hours of Wednesday (September 5, 2018) at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Ina was born on May 17, 1927 in Duffield, VA to the late Ross Jackson & Dora Ethel (Darnell) Stokes. Ina married the love of her life, Clyde Guinn on December 2, 1943, and after 54 years of a wonderful marriage, he preceded her in death.
Ina was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Blountville for over 60 years. She was an avid saltwater fisherwoman; she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, collecting cat memorabilia, and selling Avon for over 50 years. Ina was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend; she will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, Ina was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Clyde Guinn; and brother, Robert Gerald Stokes.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Nancy Tester & husband James “Jim”; grandson, Ross Tester & wife Traci; two great-grandchildren, Taylor C. and Noah A. Tester; “special sister”, Priscilla Guinn; and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday (September 7, 2018) from 5 to 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church (3358 TN-126 Blountville, TN 37617). Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Clay Austin officiating.
Committal services will be held on Saturday (September 8, 2018) at 11 a.m. in the Garden of Hope at East Lawn Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to First Baptist Church (3358 TN-126 Blountville, TN 37617) c/o building fund.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Glenda Pickle, Gloria Alder, Margaret Oliver, and Harry Weaver for all of the kind and compassionate care that was both given and shown to Ina during her time of need.
