He was a native of Fort Myers, Florida and had been a longtime resident of Nashville, Tennessee. He was a graduate of Sulphur High School, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, and volunteered with the American Red Cross and a fire and rescue department in Georgia. Marcus was heavily involved in the music entertainment industry in Nashville. He loved music, hiking, and gaming with his sons.
Survivors include his children, Mitchell Padgett, Matthew Padgett, and Ryan Padgett, all of Rabun Gap, Georgia; his mother, Cathy LeGros and husband, Pat of Carlyss; the mother of his children, Dawn Wilburn of Rabun Gap, Georgia; his grandmother, Marguerite Martell of Florida; his siblings, Scott LeGros of Arkansas, Shannon LeGros of Arkansas, Amy Benoit of Carlyss, Billy Padgett of Michigan, and Sarah Padgett of North Carolina. He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Padgett; his brother, Mitchell LeGros; and grandparents, Melvin Martell and Kay Padgett.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Sunday, September 9, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Edward Richard, M.S. will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Jennings.
